Basically, menopause symptoms start to appear when there is an intermittent and erratic changing of your hormone production.

What are the first signs of menopause as far as your physical appearance? My friend is 39 and she has started to "grow" a couple of course hairs on her chin area. They look like men's facial hair, but there are only like three or four of them. She started getting these in the past year and she plucks them out with tweezers and they grow back about every five to ten days.

She and I talked about it being a change in her hormones and maybe it is a sign of menopause. She is not noticing any other changes to her body except this weird facial hair. She hasn't been tested for anything specific to menopause as of yet.

Is there anything she can do to prevent or stop those thick hairs from getting worse on her chin?
