About 12 million people in the United States seek medical care each year for impacted ear wax, according to the guidelines.
That is an awful lot of people! Thanks for the link

To be honest there is no way I would be able to leave it alone! I clean my ears with a cotton bud at least every second day.
There is nothing worse than having itchy ears and no cotton buds!

Actually that article is wrong. Leaving the ear wax alone, can lead to blockage which can eventually lead to you having surgery.
The ear is supposed to self clean the wax out itself, but some circumstances prevent it or slow it down to the point where the wax builds up.
I clean my ears out every Saturday night with room temperature hydrogen peroxide to loosen the wax then squirt warm/hot water into my ear canal with a ear syringe.
