Probably the most annoying aspect of having a cold is the congestion of it. I am perfectly fine with having a cold all year long as long as I don't have the congestion associated with it. When I have that, I feel completely miserable. However, there are a lot of ways that people clear up their congestion, what methods have you heard of? Here are some of mine:

1. Slice up citrus in thin strips, stick up the nose for an extended period of time, inhale through nostrils only. This works great, but it hurts at first, especially if you have cuts in your nose.

2. Inhale vapor, Vaporub, etc.

3. Drink hot tea with a blanket covering your head and the tea. The vapor will clear up your congestion and the tea will make your throat feel better while hydrating your body.
herbal cold balm also relives congestion http://www.internationaldrugmart.com/her...-balm.html
I have found that making hot water drinks with lemon and slices of ginger also aid in gongestion and help to kill off the germs assocaited with the colds and flus. I use this remedy all the time and it works wonders. I highly recommend it.
well, great post about congestion...
thanks for sharing information...
Onions are natural decongestants and expectorants. Sometimes simply cutting up a raw onion is enough to start loosening phlegm and mucus. If that doesn't work, use the raw onions in any food that you enjoy. Make sure to use lots of onions. I like to eat a sandwich with a thick slice of onion. Many times this is all that is needed to relieve congestion.
